Bounce rate is a single-page session on your site. It indicates the percentage of visitors that leave after viewing only one page on your site without any further interactions. A lot of factors can contribute to your bounce rate, e.g.: bad UX design, longer page load time, webpage did not meet expectations, or the page displayed the information the user is searching for.

Bounce rate provides information on the behavior of a website’s visitors, and in turn how well the website is engaging them.

Bounce Rate Vs Exit Rate

Although, bounce rate and exit rate seem to be similar, they are not. All bounces are exits, but not all exits are bounces. Bounce rate measures the percentage of visitors that leave a website before interacting with it in any way. Exit rates provide information on specific pages of the website, measuring the percentage of visitors that left the site after viewing a specific page.
